Xiu Xiu are essentially a musical outfit of sorts and kind of defy genre in the sense that their music is so out there (especially in this record). Talos Far Out Dust Album Review Listen on Spotify Listen on Apple Music Happy Valentines day everyone! Ive been a lot busier recently and have been sitting on some new music for a while. But I thought a day such as this one would be a fantastic opportunity to talk about this wondrous pop masterpiece. The second full length album from the musical artist known as  Talos  and acts as my gateway into their discography. The artwork of this album at first glance suggested to me that this would be some sort of abstract, subliminal sound. What I got instead was something a lot more constructed and well composed and really came as a pleasant surprise. Pet Shop Boys Agenda EP Review Listen on Spotify Listen on Apple Music 80's synth-pop legends Pet Shop Boys need very little introduction. And despite their most recent full album "Super" being released way back in 2016, we were treated to a small helping of newer material with this latest EP. Despite having a stingy ration of only four tracks and a runtime of only 13 minutes, the sheer quality of the majority of songs were enough to make me interested. There is a somewhat solid theme targeting very relevant social issues in modern day society and I would go as far to say that it is a very political piece with a great dose of satire. This modern focus juxtaposes nicely with a very retro synth-pop aesthetic that stays true to the golden years of Pet Shop Boys. Beirut Gallipoli Album Review Listen on Spotify Listen on Apple Music If you know me well, then you should know that when it comes to music, I'm a sucker for the ambient, atmospheric brand. That being said, when I first listened to this album that was suggested to me on Spotify, I was interested straight away. It was interesting to find that Beirut have been making music for over a decade now and originally begun as a solo project from Santa Fe musician Zach Condon . This latest instalment "Gallipoli" marks their fifth full-length album. However, it serves as my introduction to this intriguing indie-rock/ world music band. The first thing that comes to mind when I listened to this album was that there was an abundance of grandeur with it, mostly thanks to the use of the trumpets in many of its tracks. Malibu Ken Self-Titled Album Review Listen on Spotify Listen on Apple Music Arguably the first big album of 2019 that I knew very little about until I dived straight in, Malibu Ken is a Kids See Ghosts kind of collaboration between American hip-hop artist Aesop Rock and electronic musician Tobacco . Their musical prowess and talent combining to create this funky and abstract (but also kinda gross in its aesthetic) self-titled record. One thing that I instantly picked up on after listening to both artists individually, is that both of them have a very clear presence on this album. With Aesop Rock's unique vocals and Tobacco's abstract and surreal electronic beats that make up the production of this albums tracks. They go together perfectly like jam and cream, making this album sound like its come from a rap group that have been part of the game for years, rather than an ambitious collaboration. Bring Me The Horizon amo Album Review Listen on Spotify Listen on Apple Music The latest instalment and sixth studio album from Bring Me The Horizon is an interesting record to say the least and by far their most outlandish and innovative works to date. It became common knowledge to me that with each album that Bring Me released, their style strayed further and further from their deathcore roots. This album however, confirms to the that the band have taken a completely different direction, with a brand-spanking new idea of what Bring Me The Horizon is.
